The Eifel Grand Prix saw Renault's Daniel Ricciardo take his first podium with Renault and the team's first since 2011. In this video, I breakdown why Ricciardo's Renault podium is great news for future Renault driver Fernando Alonso. Renault have made strong gains in the last five races and are only six points out of third in the constructor's standings. Although bittersweet for Ricciardo as he is leaving for McLaren in 2021, this podium result is great news for Alonso and shows that Renault are trending in the right direction. For the first time in a while, Fernando Alonso might've made the right career move at the right time.
