LML- Lohia Machinery Private Limited was started as a synthetic yarn manufacturing company in 1972. They started manufacturing scooters in 1984 by joining hands with Italian scooter makers, the Piaggio. LML started manufacturing more scooters with the help of advanced technology from Piaggio and sharing equal equity among the partners. The iconic model of Piaggio, the Vespa PX was sold in India through this joint venture. An upgraded version of this scooter was called the LML Select 2
