In this video I show you how to perform the BMW diagnostic procedure known as the Stomp Test. Simply turn the ignition to position II (with engine off) and depress the gas pedal five times in a row. The check engine light will begin to flash. This morse code style communication must be paid close attention to get the correct code information. Write down number of flashes with pen and paper. Each code has four digits. In this video my code is 1222, but your car may have multiple codes present. Here's how to find Motronic fault codes.
