The Dakar Rally's second week was a mix of highs and lows for the competitors. The tragic death of legend rider Paulo Gonçalves cast a shadow over the event while Carlos Sainz took his third Dakar victory. F1 legend Fernando Alonso also completed his first rally, overcoming a roll down the dunes during a stage.
