Could this be the next team to enter F1?

Formula 1 has always been somewhat difficult to enter for new teams. However, a new team is making an attempt to become a part of the grid in the coming years by the name of Panthera.

Its co-founder Benjamin Durand (pictured right) revealed his aims for the future team which has reportedly already hired engineers to begin works on the potential car designs.

"Our goal is Formula 1 in 2021."

“Our project is still moving forward but it is too early for us to make any statement"

He further revealed that talks are going on with the various parties that would be involved

"We are still in discussion with all the parties involved such as the FIA and F1”

"We have also initiated talks with several engine suppliers who might be additionally willing to provide certain elements of the car but no formal agreement has been signed yet"

"The maiden season will be determined by the timeframe we will have to get an entry, so all options are been studied right now"

‘F1 Can’t Race Without Crowds’

Many sporting events are trying to keep their fans entertained by organising events behind closed doors. Many have suggested that Formula 1 should do the same as the first seven Grands Prix of the 2020 season has all been cancelled or postponed.

Former F1 driver and current commentator Martin Brundle, however, feels that a majority of the races can still take place this year provided a few changes are made to the race weekends.

"I think if we do get up and running I could easily see 16 or 17 races, just coming thick and fast, triple-headers, quadruple-headers, maybe one week off and then go again"

"They'll shorten the weekend, maybe, just to two days rather than three."

He further explained why races without fans would be quite debilitating for the circuits

"The thought of great circuits like Silverstone, running a race but having no crowd, they just can't do that, they'll go broke frankly. So we need to wait until we can get a crowd and do this properly”

He also reminded how an entire season with far fewer races can still be organized just as it used to be done in the past

"But I do think there's a chance we could have a representative Formula 1 season and remember, back in Sir Stirling Moss' day and Fangio's day, there were seven or eight [races] in a championship."
