This also refers to the crisis conditions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic that has hit all parts of the world. As a result, Toyota Gazoo Racing has not been able to realize a rally car using the latest Yaris generation.

However, that does not mean that the car cannot be deployed for the rally. The good news is that one unit of the Toyota GR Yaris has been prepared to play the 2021 Australian Rally Championship.

Quoted from carscoops, Head of Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia, Neal Bates, has prepared the unit to be ready to go down in the most prestigious rally event in Australia.

In its development, Bates uses Virtual Reality technology in the process. In this regard, he did some development work such as a distinctive exterior bodywork.

"I have had an exciting career with Toyota and motorsport for more than 30 years. And, the new GR Yaris is outstanding both in terms of performance and capabilities. This will give us a platform to start," said Neal Bates.

The Toyota GR Yaris in the hands of Neal Bates was overhauled to comply with FIA regulations in the rally arena. Some that is being done is replacing several devices to make it more have maximum performance.

"We have a carbon fiber roof, aluminum doors, a three-cylinder turbo engine that is the lightest and most powerful in the world. We also have a very wide body, and adopt all-wheel drive, it's really made for rallying," added Bates.
