Описание

The new SEAT León 1.5 TGI 130 CV of compressed natural gas (CNG) is now available, available in the 5-door body with both a six-speed manual gearbox and a seven-speed DSG, as well as in the Sportstourer with a DSG gearbox, and that will soon also add the version with manual gearbox. In this way, the TGI engine completes the offer of up to five different types of engines from the León range to meet the needs of all types of customers, which until now were offered with options for gasoline (TSI), diesel (TDI), 'Mild Hybrid' (eTSI), and plug-in hybrid (e-HYBRID).

The new natural gas León is available in the Style, Xcellence and FR finishes, with a price starting at 26,250 euros, without the brand discounts applied, it obtains the ECO environmental label, and allows it to travel up to 440 km making exclusive use of CNG as fuel, with an approximate cost of 3 euros to travel 100 km (average price of CNG Spain: € 0.80 / kg).

SEAT offers a wide range of CNG models, with the new León 1.5 TGI, the Ibiza 1.0 TGI and the Arona 1.0 TGI. The natural gas SEAT León is perfectly compatible with the eTSI and e-HYBRID versions of the Spanish compact, and will only complement the offer to offer a vehicle tailored to each customer. Compressed natural gas technology is intended for those customers who need to travel long distances, circulate in urban environments with environmental restrictions to traffic, who are especially sensitive to cost per kilometer, who have accessibility to the refueling infrastructure on their regular trips, and all this, with an acquisition cost very similar to that of its gasoline counterpart.

New SEAT León TGI mechanical configuration

This version of the SEAT León is fitted with a 1.5 TGI four-cylinder engine, which delivers 130 hp (96 kW) and 200 Nm of maximum torque. These power and torque figures provide performance and a driving experience on par with what you would expect from a SEAT, regardless of the technology that drives it.

Inside, the León TGI accommodates three compressed natural gas (CNG) tanks with a total net capacity of 17.3 kg, which allow it to achieve autonomy exclusively in gas mode of up to 440 kilometers. In case of running out of CNG, the engine automatically switches to gasoline. The model has a 9-liter secondary tank where gasoline is stored. The refueling operation is as simple as in any other vehicle in the range.

The new 1.5-liter TGI engine is powered by the Miller cycle combustion process and offers a high compression ratio of 12.5: 1. Thanks to this, it manages to increase efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions. Thus, the CNG consumption and emissions of the SEAT León TGI, in combined cycle and according to WLTP approval, are as follows: the 5-door variant, with manual transmission consumes between 3.7 and 4.1 kg / 100km, with emissions between 103 to 112 g / km of CO2; with DSG gearbox, it consumes between 3.9 and 4.3 kg / 100km and presents CO2 emissions between 109 and 118 g / km; and in the Sportstourer variant with DSG gearbox, it presents a consumption between 3.9 and 4.4 kg / 100km and CO2 emissions between 110 and 120 g / km.

Likewise, a CNG vehicle reduces carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 25% compared to its gasoline equivalent. For this reason, the DGT grants it the ECO environmental label. In addition to the ecological contribution, TGI technology offers tax benefits and an exceptionally competitive cost per kilometer, up to 50% cheaper than a gasoline vehicle and 30% less compared to a diesel.

Great technological equipment for the sake of security and connectivity

The new SEAT León TGI is available in the Style, Xcellence and FR finishes. Regardless of the customer's choice, the TGI version includes, as standard and specifically, the SEAT Digital Cockpit instrument cluster, the Connectivity Box wireless charger, or the wireless Full Link system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto, among other elements . The Xcellence trim stands out for including the three-zone climate control or the Full LED headlights, and the FR incorporates as standard the navigation system with a 25.4 cm (10 '') screen, the SEAT driving mode selector. Drive Profile and all the available functions of the SEAT Connect connectivity system, among others.

Designed and developed in Barcelona, the SEAT León 5-door 1.5 TGI 130 CV has just started production also at the headquarters of the Spanish company in Martorell. In the coming weeks, the compressed natural gas Leon will complete its offer with the six-speed manual gearbox also for the Sportstourer bodywork.
