2020 Mitsubishi RVR/ASX Exterior Interior Drive
It’s an RVR! It’s an Outlander Sport! No, it’s an ASX!
The RVR is actually called the Outlander Sport in the U.S. and the ASX in other markets. Whatever the nameplate on the outside, under the hood the model runs on a 2.0L 4-cylinder the capacities of which have not been announced as of yet.
RVR is available with a choice of 2.0L or 2.4L MIVEC 16-valve engines mated to the INVECS -III Continuous Variable Transmission. Both two and four-wheel drive versions are available.
New Design
RVR model year 2020 has under gone a major design change under the concept “impact and impulse” with a strong and tough image. The front view is the latest evolution of MMC’s Dynamic Shield front design concept. The bumper embraces the central protective shape from both sides and the squared and horizontal and vertical line treatment of the grille and the skid plate under the bumper expresses strength and toughness. The new styling makes the hood deeper, adding to the presence projected by the front end. And the distinctive LED lighting layout, which locates the turn signals and fog lamps at the ends of the bumper, stamps a #Mitsubishi brand look on the front end.

At the rear #RVR uses LED rear combination lamps (except turn signals) in a sharp-looking design that stretches across the width of the car and accentuates the wide stance. The skid plate styling of the underside of the bumper projects a look of strength.

New Colours
Customers can choose from three new colours, the intensely brilliant Red Diamond, sporty and energetic Sunshine Orange and sleek, refined Oak Brown. Black, white, silver, grey and blue continue to be colour options.
Inside, smartphone connectivity systems have been upgraded and the multimedia screen grows from seven to eight inches.
Inside, the RVR is pretty nice, especially this GT format, though if one were looking for criticisms, some of the plastic trim isn’t quite up to Toyota’s synthetics. That said, the build quality is excellent, with panel gaps minimal and uniform, the leather seat covering is quite elegant and the new infotainment system, now with a larger screen, adds a touch of modernity. The GT option offers a 710-watt Rockford Fosgate audio system with subwoofers that rival the Bose 901s that used to pound out the bass in the discotheques of my youth. Said infotainment is also simply and well laid out.
